I was really excited to witness Gasolina Reggaeton Party in person after being a fan of her show for years. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. She lacked the intelligence, spontaneity, wit, and irreverence that I admire on her show. Firstly, she appeared disheveled and unkempt, giving the impression that she had just rolled out of bed. It seemed like she had overindulged between the first and second show that I attended. Secondly, her delivery felt both disjointed and scripted, giving the impression that she was struggling to recall her lines.
While I appreciate her conversational tone and occasional swearing on her show, her live performance came across as crass. The so-called "highlights" included a prolonged display of a slide featuring three elderly men engaged in a threesome, which I found unsettling even as a gay man. Additionally, she recounted a lengthy tale of a public bout of explosive diarrhea on a beach that had its moments but ultimately failed to resonate. The show abruptly concluded when she abruptly thanked the audience for her career before dashing off the stage as the lights came on.
